How we treat it
Laparoscopic myomectomy
Fibroids are removed and the uterus is preserved. Best if you want a future pregnancy or prefer to keep your uterus.
Hysteroscopic myomectomy
For fibroids inside the uterine cavity. Done vaginally with no incisions, usually as an outpatient.
Laparoscopic or vNOTES hysterectomy
When you are done having children and fibroids are multiple or recurrent. vNOTES leaves no abdominal incisions.
Recovery: Usually discharged within 24 hours. Desk work in 1–2 weeks; physical exertion as advised.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get pregnant after a myomectomy?
Yes — that is one of the reasons to preserve the uterus. We will tell you how long to wait and how your pregnancy should be monitored based on the fibroids removed.
Can fibroids come back?
New fibroids can appear over the years, since the tendency remains while the uterus is in place. That is why follow-up is part of the treatment.
How long does surgery take?
It depends on the number and size of the fibroids, usually 1 to 3 hours. You will get a precise estimate after we review your ultrasound or MRI.
What tests do I need?
At least a recent pelvic ultrasound; for large or multiple fibroids, an MRI. If you already have them, send them for your virtual evaluation.
